The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) has launched a new program, Break Through Tech Chicago, BTTC, that will propel women and underrepresented groups into higher education and careers in tech through computer science curriculum innovation, career access and community development. Break Through Tech Chicago seeks a team oriented Educational Program Evaluation Coordinator. Working under general supervision from senior personnel, the Program Evaluation Coordinator will monitor and evaluate program components to assess trends, effectiveness and impact as they relate to the goals of BTTC to move women and underrepresented groups into tech related careers. Must have a dedication to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, gender equity and inclusion as it relates to program and university goals. We are partnering with CREA at the University of Illinois for a special opportunity for current Chicago-based under-represented minority (URM) graduate students or early career (1-2 years) evaluators to apply for a conference registration scholarship to the Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation and Assessment's (CREA) Sixth International Conference from September 29th to October 1st 2021. The conference is taking place at the Palmer House in Chicago and the scholarship is open to graduate student attendees or early career evaluators only. Eligibility and application details are provided below.
The timeline for selection is short and there are only a limited number of scholarships available. Please fill out the application at (CREA/CEA Application Form), which is due by 5pm CST on Monday, July 16, 2021.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be a member of a traditionally underrepresented racial/ethnic minority group. Pursuant to Section 9.16 of the Board of Higher Education Act (110 ILCS 205), the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) annually reports to the Governor and General Assembly on the status and participation of underrepresented groups in higher education. The Act defines “underrepresented” as a citizen or resident alien who identifies as African American, Hispanic or Latino, Asian-American, Pacific Islander, American Indian, or Alaska Native.

Research, Evaluation and Analytics Intern Position Overview:
Common Threads is seeking a part-time, unpaid Research, Evaluation and Analytics Intern for the summer term (approximately June – August). Interns seeking academic credit are preferred. This is a work from home/remote position for approximately 20 hours per week. Applications will be accepted through March 22, 2021, or until the position is filled. The position reports primarily to the Vice President of Research and Evaluation and the Evaluation Manager.
This intern will support the Common Threads’ Research, Evaluation and Analytics team with achieving their goals and objectives. This team is collecting, analyzing and reporting insights and data about our programs, participants, and community partners to internal stakeholders, as well as external funders and partners. Furthermore, this team is developing relationships with academic researchers to scope future research studies.

Enlace Chicago: Education Evaluation and Data Specialist
The Education Evaluation and Data Specialist works with the Enlace evaluation team to support staff in data management and building structures to support continuous quality improvement practices for education programs and initiatives. Specifically, they support education team members in developing data tracking systems, with data extraction and analysis, and identifying and developing data collection tools. The Specialist also develops data visuals for interpretation with teams as well as assists with data collection and analysis for education grant reports. The Education Evaluation and Data Specialist is also responsible for developing a year-long evaluation timeline, monitoring data collection and developing the local annual evaluation reports for 21st Century Community Schools Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grants.
