Chicagoland Evaluation Association!

The Chicagoland Evaluation Association (CEA) is the official Chicago area affiliate of the American Evaluation Association (AEA). CEA is a professional association of 75 professional evaluators and graduate students from a wide variety of disciplines including education, human and social services, public health, early childhood and family programming, museums and agriculture, who are devoted to the application and development of evaluation.

Our Mission

CEA’s mission is to provide a forum for professional evaluators in the Chicago area to network, exchange ideas and knowledge, and participate in professional development activities that promote excellence in the field of evaluation.

We invite you to join us at the annual CEA business meeting on October 7, 2010 at National-Louis University in Chicago. Information about the time and exact location will be posted soon.

Are you interested in becoming a member of CEA?

Membership in CEA will strengthen your ties to the Chicagoland evaluation community and enhance your networking and professional development opportunities. Membership benefits include:

1. Free attendance for all of our events:
   We typically host 3 to 4 professional development events each year and 2 to 3 social networking Events. The cost for attending these events is typically $5 for nonmembers. Attendance is free for CEA members.
2. The opportunity to shape the organization:
   CEA members can participate in any or all of our standing committees for professional development, strategic planning, social networking, and website development.
3. The opportunity to vote and run for positions on the CEA Executive Committee:
   CEA members can take an active role in shaping the organization by voting for candidates who are running for positions on the Executive Committee and by running for any open position.
4. The opportunity to be listed on our membership directory:
   We have recently launched a membership directory on the website to enable CEA members to get to know one another and market themselves to others in the evaluation community. CEA members can opt in to the directory and share their areas of expertise and contact information.

Are you interested in becoming more active in CEA?

CEA is set up so that you can become as active and involved as you would like based on your interests and availability. You can attend all of our events, none of our events, or somewhere in-between. If you are a member, you can join one or more of our committees or run for any open office on our Executive Board. You can also join our email list to keep in contact with fellow CEA members and stay up-to-date on what's happening in the organization.
